Work-OUTs for Business Owners

You should get a 5x cash return
on your investment in this program.

Figure out for yourself whether this is worth it. Use your own numbers. Move the sliders.

Your numbers

Start with your business.

$2,000,000
10%

As a percent of revenue. A rough number is fine. That's $200,000 in profit a year.

Business benefits

Count the cash.

Work-OUTs get you out of day-to-day management by moving four things off you: decisions, results, knowledge, and relationships. That pays in two ways. Set each slider to what you believe is realistic. Be stingy.

5%

Your freed-up time goes to the work only you can do. +$10,000 profit a year

+1 point

Your people own results, so fewer things wait on you. Net profit goes from 10% to 11%. +$21,000 profit a year

$31,000 more profit a year

On a $4,500 investment, that's a 6.9x cash return.

5x takes $22,500 more profit a year. That's 1.1% of your revenue, or about $433 a week.

Bonus, not counted in your cash return: what your business is worth.

Businesses like yours sell for about
profit

$31,000 more profit adds about $93,000 to what your business is worth.

Buyers pay more for a business that runs without its owner. That part isn't counted here.

Emotional benefits

Count what you get back.

Cash is the easy part to count. This is the part you feel.

10

500 hours a year. That's 12.5 full work weeks.

3

150 dinners a year.

2

2 weeks where nobody calls.

What do you want more of? Tap all that fit.
What is all of that worth to you each year?

Fair. It stays off the scoreboard. You know what it's worth.

The cost you avoid

Nobody trades a marriage for a business on purpose.

It happens one missed dinner at a time. This isn't a prediction about your marriage. It's the size of the bill, so you can weigh it against the cost of getting your time back.

Share a court could award your spouse

A business you built or grew during the marriage usually counts as marital property. Nebraska courts typically award each spouse one-third to one-half. Some states start at half.

$21,000

Attorney's fees average $11,300, and a written business valuation typically starts above $10,000. A contested case costs more.

$221,000 is what a divorce would cost you
Buying out your spouse's share of the business: $200,000Lawyers and valuation: $21,000

That's 49 times your investment in this program.

It leaves out the house, the retirement accounts, support payments, and everything that has no price.

This program can't fix a marriage. It can give you the hours back. What you do with them is yours to decide.

Try a class before you decide.

The Free Trial Clinic runs every week on Google Meet. Watch a real Movement Clinic, then make up your own mind. When you join, you can cancel in the first 14 days for a full refund.

Where these numbers come from
  • Cash return. More profit each year is your new revenue times your new margin, minus the profit you make today. Cash return is that number divided by the price of the three-month program. Business value and emotional benefits are never added to it.
  • Hours and dinners assume 50 working weeks a year. A full work week is 40 hours.
  • Business value. Small businesses sold in 2025 went for an average of 2.61 times cash flow, according to BizBuySell. Larger and less owner-reliant businesses sell for more.
  • Attorney's fees. $11,300 average and $7,000 median per person, from Martindale-Nolo Research's 2019 divorce survey, reported by Nolo.
  • Business valuation. A full written valuation report typically exceeds $10,000, per Jaburg Wilk.
  • Spouse's share. Nebraska judges typically award each spouse one-third to one-half of the marital estate, and a business acquired or grown during the marriage is marital property (Neb. Rev. Stat. § 42-365, summarized at divorce.law). Rules differ by state.
  • Time together. Couples who spend less time together have a higher risk of divorce (Poortman, Journal of Family Issues, 2005).
